Welcome to stevethornburg.com

This page is for Windows diagnostics tools.  Currently there is only one, but I will add more as time permits.  This was developed to help a friend in need, and was put here as an afterthought.  Please send me feedback if you have comments or suggestions, especially if I can make improvements.  Thanks!

Windows Diagnostics Resources

Little System Analyzer
This is a simple "batch" job that uses existing Windows utility software to create two text files containing an abundance of system information.  The job will create a new folder on your machine as  "C:\this_pc\"  in which will be two text files, named "msinfo.txt" and "report.txt".  The job can take as long as 20 minutes, and requires an internet connection to execute all facets of the tests.  No information from your computer is transmitted.  Commands such as "ping" and "netstat" are used to evaluate certain aspects of system network connectivity, and to show you how the machine is performing.  If no internet connection is available, the network test-related commands will simply time out, but will cause increased duration of test time.  You can save the batch file and examine how and what it is doing.  It is a text format file, and can be viewed using Notepad.
After the Analyzer has completed, you can read "msinfo.txt" or "report.txt"
